Eve – Epilogue – I Didn’t Choose It
My name is Eve.
Yes, like that Eve.
No, I didn’t choose it. But I grew into it.
I was Evvy once. That’s what my grandma called me. So did boys who liked me just enough to stay for a while. I was soft. Convenient. Replaceable.
Then I stopped answering to Evvy.
This isn’t a tragic backstory. My parents divorced before I could ask questions. My father disappeared. My mother disappeared differently. I was raised by a woman who believed love meant feeding you and not asking too much.
So I didn’t learn rules.
I learned survival.
I don’t believe in stealing husbands.
You can’t steal something that walks out by itself.
I don’t believe in forever.
I believe in timing.
These aren’t love stories.
They’re stories about moments.
And I don’t regret them.
I’m Eve.
And if you’re nervous while reading this, that’s probably a good sign.
